Using one IIS server as Web proxy for several M-Files application servers
Posted by Ville Karinen (M-Files) on 02 March 2018 09:43 AM
You can configure one M-Files Web proxy to relay traffic to several M-Files application servers instead of installing a separate proxy server for each application server.

As a starting point, follow this document to install the proxy server:

The required changes, as compared to the document above, are to add the registry settings (Server, ProtocolSequence and Endpoint) deeper into the registry. Instead of adding the settings in HKEY_LOCAL_COMPUTER/SOFTWARE/Motive/M-Files/<version>/Server/MFWA, create a new key called "Sites" under the MFWA key, and under "Sites", add a new key for each MFWA site with the key's name corresponding with the site's ID number in IIS.

For example:
HKEY_LOCAL_COMPUTER/SOFTWARE/Motive/M-Files/<version>/Server/MFWA/Sites/1
HKEY_LOCAL_COMPUTER/SOFTWARE/Motive/M-Files/<version>/Server/MFWA/Sites/2
HKEY_LOCAL_COMPUTER/SOFTWARE/Motive/M-Files/<version>/Server/MFWA/Sites/3

Add the Server, ProtocolSequence and Endpoint registry values for each M-Files application server under separate site keys.
