Changing the way user name is displayed

As default, M-Files shows the display names of the values based on the built-in Users value list in the "Firstname Lastname" format, as shown in the attached screenshot.
You can change the display name format by applying the following registry value in Windows Registry on the M-Files Server computer:

Value Name   NameCombiningMode
Value Type  REG_DWORD
Description  Specifies the display name format for property values that use the built-in users value list

3 (Default) = "Firstname Lastname" (or "DOMAINNAME\USERNAME" if the full name is not available

1 = "DOMAINNAME\USERNAME (Firstname Lastname)"


The change comes into effect after the M-Files Server service is restarted. In earlier versions of M-Files you will also need to add or remove at least one user in the Users value list to see the change.
