"Cannot change thread mode after it is set" error message

When the following error is shown upon a client operation (such as checking in or out a document), we have found that the most common resolution is to uninstall M-Files desktop client, reboot the computer, then re-install the client.

There is mention regarding this under a bug number #146018 and the developers are aware of this issue at the time this article is written.
