Scans coming in as TIFF instead of PDF or When OCR is Not Working

If you experience an error stating "Conversion to searchable PDF failed. The input file could not be loaded, possibly due to a wrong format." whether this happens in the client side or on an automated operation such as a file scan, the most common resolution here is to simply restart the M-Files Auxiliary service, which will also require the prerequisite service of M-Files Server service to be restarted.

Be sure to plan this restart with a maintenance window and notify your users as there will be an interruption of M-Files service to your end users.
