How to Undelete a Traditional Folder
Posted by Rami Aalto (M-Files) on 27 August 2018 01:45 PM

If you delete an object in M-Files, it can be restored (unless it has been destroyed). But if you have deleted a traditional folder, the process for restoring the folder is different.

If you want to restore only the traditional folders, it must be done via M-Files Admin:

  1. Select the desired document vault > Metadata structure (flat view) > Value Lists > Show All Value Lists > double-click Traditional folders
  2. Click OK when prompted about editing built-in value lists
  3. Select Contents...
  4. Check "Show deleted values"
  5. Select the traditional folder to be restored > Undelete

Repeat step 5 for all traditional folders you want to undelete.

Please note that undeleting a traditional folder does not restore its contents. Objects inside a traditional folder can be restored normally by searching for deleted objects and undeleting them.
