Ports for Network Folder Connector IML

1     Overview

This document outlines the ports used for the Network Folder Connector, also known as External File Repository.

2     Ports

The following ports are required for MFServer to connect to a network share with the NFC:

2.1       MFServer -> File server

  • UDP 137
  • UDP 138
  • TCP 139
  • TCP 445

2.2       MFServer -> Domain Controller

  • UDP 389 (CLDAP)
  • TCP 389 (LDAP)
  • TCP 636 (LDAPS)
  • TCP 3268 (Global Catalog)
  • TCP 3269 (Global Catalog + TLS)
  • TCP 445


2.3      MFServer -> DNS server that can resolve domain hostnames and SRVs

  • UDP 53
  • One option is to make the Domain Controller the DNS server for MFServer machine.
  • Alternatively, the domain records must be available in a public DNS server.
