Cloud vault connection issue after May 19th update

 1 Overview

Some cloud customers have reported cloud vault connection issues after the May 19th cloud vault update (version 19.5.7811.7.)

This is a sample error message:

CoShellFolder.cpp, 1005, The parameter is incorrect. (CRemoteSettingsManager is associated with the vault "{XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX}".
Loading the settings from a different vault "{xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx}" is not allowed.) (0x80070057) 

2 Background

Changes to the capitalization of GUID letters in document vault connections seems to be causing this issue, so vault connections created via imported registry keys or custom installation packages are most likely to be affected. Vault connections that have been established with lower case letters are being affected. This issue is currently being investigated by product development with the highest priority (ID 151391). We will update this article as necessary.

2 Workaround

To re-establish your cloud vault connection, click M-Files icon on Windows taskbar. Choose "Settings" and "M-Files Desktop Settings". In "Document Vault Connections" double-click your cloud vault connection and re-select your document vault from "Vault on server:" drop down list. Click "OK" and "Close" and try opening your vault again.
