Troubleshooting application license issues

Applications that have separate licenses (such as Compliance kit) must have a license matching the server license. In some (rare) cases there are problems installing the license or that it is marked invalid after a period.
If you notice any differences in the application license serial and server license serial, or it seems like the license file is corrupted, request new application license from where you got the original.
2.1 M-Files admin applications dialog shows "License is not valid"
Open the application license in a text editor and make sure the "MFilesSerialNumber" matches the server license. You can see the server license details from the M-Files admin tool, right-click Local computer and select License management.
Also, take extra care that there is nothing extra in the application license code, such as a whitespace somewhere in the value.
If you notice any differences in the application license serial and server license serial, request new application license from where you got the original.
2.2 Attempting to install application license throws an error
Attempting to install a corrupted license file will show a dialog with License status: "The license was not accepted" and "License is incorrect. The file is either not a license or it is corrupt or falsified."
This usually means that the file itself has been corrupted somehow during creation or transfer. Request new application license from where you got the original.
3. License becomes invalid after a period
When updating the server license, make sure to update the application licenses as well. For example, Compliance kit will erroneously show valid license after server license has been changed because it will validate the CK license in a vault restart. So, make sure that all application licenses are updated to match the new server serial.
