Disabling warning about older M-Files Server version than the Client

1     Overview

M-Files Client might give a warning message during login phase if the M-Files Server version is lower than the M-Files Client version in use. The message is "M-Files server needs an update - ask your administrator to update M-Files server. It makes new functions available and improve performance". The message text and graphic may vary depending on the M-Files or Windows version.

1     Solution

This message can be disabled or enabled either in M-Files Client settings or via Windows registry settings. The computer-specific setting is described in the user guide here: Other Computer-Specific Settings. M-Files 2018 versions of have this setting disabled by default.

The message can also be disabled enabled by adding or modifying a Windows registry setting. This registry setting is useful when distributing client settings via GPO in an organization.
