Changing Search ScopeTo Persistent

1     Overview / Work Notes

M-Files user may find it useful for M-Files Desktop application to keep the latest search setting scope after search when navigating between views. Normally after returning to search, the user needs to set again search scope for the new search (Metadata or File contents) from Filters Tab. However, it is possible to configure M-Files to keep latest search scope values with Windows registry setting.

2     Solution / Workaround

User can define M-Files to keep latest search scope (Search Scope: Metadata or File contents) by adding or editing the value of following Windows registry setting. This value is vault-specific and applicable  from M-Files version 18.11.6950 upwards.

Remember which search scope the user has used in the last search.

Restart of M-Files Desktop is needed after the registry setting change in order it becomes effective.
