M-Files Cloud Vault: M-Files 2018 is here!
Posted by Panu Parkkila on 23 January 2018 01:37 PM

M-Files Cloud Vault service was updated to the 2018 version during a maintenance break on January 21st. Updating M-Files Desktop is not mandatory, but we recommend updating to take full advantage of the 2018 New Features and Enhancements.

Highlights of the new M-Files 2018 version include a unique Intelligent Metadata Layer, AI powered Information Management, and enhanced usability with a new user interface and performance improvements.

To access the Intelligent Metadata Layer, you will need an IML Core Module license, which is embedded to M-Files Server license. IML Connectors and Intelligence Services will be downloadable via the M-Files Solution Catalog.

Please be aware that the Network Folder Connector from M-Files Cloud to customers' on-premises network shares is not supported in this release. We are working on this and will provide support as soon as possible.

Cloud Vault administrators must update M-Files Admin since the previous M-Files Admin is not compatible with the updated cloud server. If you have not already installed the upgrade package below, please do that as soon as possible to ensure that you can modify the cloud vault structure without interruptions.

M-Files API must be updated in applications that use M-Files Server API to access M-Files Cloud vaults, however applications using the M-Files Web Service or Desktop API do not need to be updated. If you are using replication between cloud and on-premises, please refer to the M-Files API and Replication Compatibility documentation.
